Digital Marketing Europe Conference History and Past Editions
From an interrupted launch to an international conference series
Digital Marketing Europe is an international conference for marketers, content creators, data analysts, advertisers and digital business leaders. Its programmes connect strategy with practical work across content, search, social media, advertising, analytics, customer experience, automation and emerging marketing technology.
The series was originally scheduled to launch in Vilnius in May 2020. Lithuanian restrictions on indoor public events during the COVID-19 outbreak forced that conference to be postponed. The first completed Digital Marketing Europe conference took place online in 2021.
The organiser’s official sequence nevertheless retains the planned 2020 launch in its numbering. This is why the April 2026 Lisbon conference is identified as the seventh, and the November 2026 Vilnius conference as the eighth. By 24 July 2026, six conference events had been completed and a further Vilnius edition was scheduled for November.
Beginning in 2026, Digital Marketing Europe adopted a bi-yearly, or twice-yearly, format. The spring occurrence took place in Lisbon in April, while the autumn occurrence is scheduled for Vilnius in November. They are separate conference editions with their own dates, locations and programmes.
Digital Marketing Europe is organised by UAB DATA MINER.

Digital Marketing Europe history by edition
2020 — The planned Vilnius launch
Digital Marketing Europe was announced as a three-day cross-industry event about online marketing, customer experience and the marketing technology stack. Its intended programme focused on practical mindsets, methods and tools for modern marketers.
The conference did not take place on the announced dates. Lithuanian restrictions on indoor public events during the COVID-19 outbreak led to its postponement. A preserved 2020 event listing records the original May 12–14 dates and the postponement notice.
2021 — The first completed online conference
The first completed Digital Marketing Europe edition became a four-day online conference and expo. Workshops took place on April 26–27, followed by the main conference and expo on April 28–29.
The programme brought together 70+ speakers and used eight programme rooms on the principal conference day. Subjects included customer experience, SEO, social media, content, advertising, analytics, e-commerce, automation and marketing technology.
2022 — A large international virtual edition
Digital Marketing Europe 2022 was delivered as a three-day virtual experience. The workshop programme took place on March 29, followed by conference days on March 30–31.
The surviving edition information records 3,650 registered participants, 40 speakers and trainers, six hosts and four programme tracks. The online format allowed marketers from many countries to participate without travel while preserving workshops, multi-track sessions and live interaction.
2023 — Online reach across 30+ countries
The fourth edition welcomed 2,100+ attendees and featured 40+ speakers from 30+ countries across four tracks and two conference days.
The programme reflected a broad view of digital marketing, combining strategy, creative work and data-driven practice. Sessions addressed performance marketing, search, content, social media, customer journeys, analytics, automation, community building and changes in consumer behaviour.
2024 — The return to an onsite conference in Vilnius
The fifth edition moved the main conference onsite in Vilnius and welcomed 500+ attendees. The programme featured 30+ speakers from 30+ countries, more than three tracks and two days of sessions at Multikino.
Topics included artificial intelligence, chatbots, virtual and augmented reality, voice search, interactive content, social advertising, personalisation, omnichannel marketing, predictive analytics, customer journey mapping, video and influencer marketing.
2025 — Workshops and a larger three-day programme
Digital Marketing Europe 2025 combined a workshop day at SIMBIOCITY Nova with two main conference days at Multikino. The edition was presented at a scale of 40+ speakers and 30+ countries, with 5+ workshops, 4+ tracks and three programme days.
The programme continued the conference’s expansion into AI-assisted marketing, automation, personalisation, predictive analytics, modern SEO, performance advertising, digital PR, e-commerce, content strategy and customer experience.
2026 Lisbon — The conference expands to Portugal
The seventh Digital Marketing Europe edition extended the series beyond Lithuania. Workshops took place on April 14, followed by the main conference on April 15–16 at Olissippo Oriente in Lisbon.
The Lisbon edition preserved the three-day format developed in Vilnius while introducing the conference to a new European city. Its programme was promoted around 40+ speakers, 30+ represented countries and an audience of 500+ marketing professionals.
The current conference website identifies Lisbon as the most recent completed conference and includes a photo recap from the event.
2026 Vilnius — The scheduled eighth edition
Digital Marketing Europe 2026 is scheduled to return to Vilnius with workshops at SIMBIOCITY Nova on November 10 and two conference days at Apollo Cinema Vilnius Outlet on November 11–12.
The planned edition comprises 40+ speakers, seven workshops and 4+ tracks, with an expected audience of 500+ professionals from 30+ countries.
The announced themes show how the marketing discipline is changing. The programme covers digital brand strategy, paid advertising, AI-powered hyper-personalisation, influencer outreach, SEO and SEM, digital PR, visual and voice search, user-generated content, affiliate marketing, immersive experiences, data and insights, growth hacking and neuromarketing.
How Digital Marketing Europe has evolved
The conference’s development reflects both external disruption and rapid change inside the digital marketing profession.
The planned 2020 launch was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021, 2022 and 2023 editions then established a large online audience, using virtual workshops, multi-track programming and international access to build the conference community.
The 2024 and 2025 editions returned the programme to Vilnius and added the cinema-style conference experience, onsite workshops and face-to-face networking. In 2026 the conference became bi-yearly, with two occurrences in the same calendar year: the seventh edition extended the model to Lisbon in April, and the eighth edition is scheduled to return to Vilnius in November.
Programme subjects have expanded from established disciplines such as content, social media, SEO, advertising, analytics, customer experience and automation into AI-powered personalisation, predictive insights, entity and generative-engine optimisation, agentic search, immersive experiences, digital PR and non-linear customer journeys. The continuing purpose is practical: helping marketers understand change, compare real experience and apply better strategies.
